Build the concept. Stir and Enjoy blends brand design, strategy and consulting to help chefs, restaurateurs, and other food-and-beverage professionals create distinct identities and stand-out brand experiences that build long-term bonds with diners and drinkers.

Plan the strategy. Anderson mixes expertise gained from brand-strategy firms and advertising agencies with a passion for eating and drinking well. The result serves Stir and Enjoy’s target audience of food-and-beverage professionals what they crave — crisply defined identities, inviting environments and a creative menu of promotional choices that help develop delectable product ideas into successful businesses. The company’s strategic focus on collaborating with clients who find joy in the aroma of olive oil or the pop of a cork is designed to make it a recognized industry expert. That emphasis also adds credence to the words, graphics and experiences Stir and Enjoy uses to develop and differentiate brands.

Grow the revenue. Consistent industry focus has attracted impressive clients and led to Stir and Enjoy’s steady growth. For example, the firm helped Christopher Elbow, Kansas City’s star chocolatier, launch Glace Artisan Ice Cream. It also helped launch three KC-area restaurant/bars — Julian, Collection and The Belfry — for Celina Tio, a James Beard Award-winning chef who has been a contestant on Bravo’s “Top Chef” and Food Network’s “The Next Iron Chef.” More recently, Stir and Enjoy rebranded Dolce, an ice cream shop, and Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop when those establishments moved to larger spaces.

Expand the market. Anderson’s growth goals for Stir and Enjoy got a boost when he was featured in Grits and Grids, a design blog focused on food branding, particularly for restaurants. He also continues to raise his profile within the industry by sharing and/or authoring blogs about topics such as the balance between preparation and flexibility, the importance of collaboration and, of course, branding. Anderson says his key to expansion is to become the trusted branding partner for clients ranging from the well known to those just getting started.

Insight/Hindsight. “It didn’t take long after I started Stir and Enjoy to realize that, while I was confident in my branding expertise, I needed to learn the ins and outs of running my own business. FastTrac provided the opportunity to share and learn from the experiences of others in the same position. The information I learned and the relationships I formed during FastTrac continue to be important to my success.”
